Stilletto | stitching awl | bodkin (nr. 431)

In the 15th and 16th centuries, the bodkin was much used to pierce holes for worked eyelets (for the numerous metal-tipped laces (aglets) fastening the clothing). These bodkins were lathe turned, with a conical and well-sharpened tip.
