Roman Frisian phallus pendant (nr. 811)

Phallus symbols were mainly popular in Roman times, when they were made of bronze, antler or bone.

Excavations of "terpen" (artificial dwelling hills) in Friesland have yielded the original of this small round phallus pendant. The leather thong to wear it on is included.
